-SUGGESTIONS: When URL is typed into the address bar, an error message occurs. URL needs to be changed to http://www.adobe.com
-UPDATE #2: As part of aggressive marketing programs in recent years, companies such as Microsoft have given updated software names such as Office XP or Office 2000. The end result can be very confusing.
-LOCATION: Pg. 72 Bottom of page
-SUGGESTIONS: I think these sentences should be left out totally. It is 2008, Office 2000 came out in the year 2000 and I don't understand what is confusing about that. Office XP came out in 2001, I can understand the confusion there, but since then we have had Office 2003 and most recently Office 2007. It seems to me that Microsoft has learned their lesson and is now updating software with less confusing names.
-UPDATE #3:Paragraphs that use The Learning Company's Student Writing Center as an example of a word processing program designed for younger students.
-LOCATION: Pg. 73 Middle of page
-SUGGESTIONS:
1) The Learning Company's website has changed to http://www.learningcompany.com
2) From my research it doesn't look like any new versions of the Student Writing Center are available. The Learning Company now has software titled Achieve! Writing and Language Arts Grades 3-6 and Achieve! Phonics, Reading and Writing for Grades 1-3. If the writers of the book want to continue using The Learning Company as an example they need to evaluate the Achieve! software.
3) The writers could find a new word processing software aimed at younger students to make their point.
-UPDATE #4: Clicker 4 from Crick Software, and described in more detail in chapter 6, is another example of an integrated software packages that supports children's writing and creativity.
-LOCATION: Pg. 73 Bottom of page
-SUGGESTIONS:
1) Needs to be updated to say Clicker 5
2) Should say "is another example of an integrated software package"
3) Just skimming through Chapter 6, I don't see another reference to Clicker 4 Software. *Team mates, correct me if you see it
