Chapter 8: Multimedia, Hypermedia, and Presentation Systems
Updates by Jan Parker

Update # 1: Encarta
Location: pg. 200 top third of page
Suggestions: New link to Encarta: http://encarta.msn.com/

Update # 2: Curriculum Associates
Location: pg. 200 bottom third of page
Suggestions: New link to Curriculum Associates: http://www.curriculumassociates.com/

Update # 3: Postcards
Location: pg. 200 bottom third of page
Suggestions: A search of the Curriculum Associates site did not bring up and product named "Postcards" I suggest removing the reference altogether

Update # 4: Director (Macromedia)
Location: pg 201 top third of page
Suggestions: Macromedia products were purchased by adobe - the Adobe version of Director can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/products/director/

Update #5: HyperStudio (KnowledgeAdventure)
Location: middle of page 201
Suggestions: HyperStudio can be found here: http://www.mackiev.com/hyperstudio/index.html

Update #6: Authorware (Macromedia)
Location: pg 200, last two lines of text
Suggestions: Since purchasing all software from Macromedia, Adobe plans to discontinue Authorware: From the site: "Adobe plans to discontinue development of Authorware, the visual authoring tool for creating rich-media e-learning applications for delivery on corporate networks, CD/DVD, and the Web"

I suggest removing the reference to Authorware altogether, or making mention that it is now owned by Adobe and they plan to discontinue its production

Update #7: Mathmatica
Location: pg 204, very bottom of page
Suggestions: While Wolfram still owns the rights to Mathematica, the website URL has changed. I suggest updating the link to either http://www.wolfram.com/products/mathematica/index.html or the more general www.wolfram.com

Update #8: Maple (Waterloo Maple)
Location: pg 205, very top of page
Suggestions: The home page of www.maplesoft.com can be a little off-putting; it almost appears to be a business site, not a site for academic purposes - software or other wise. I would include a more specific URL that loinks directly to a page that is related to "Maple"

the URL is: http://www.maplesoft.com/products/Maple/
